The course is designed to prepare students for teaching Civic Education in English using the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach. It supports the development of teaching competencies in planning and implementing complex educational activities in multilingual and multicultural environments, in line with the new curriculum framework for upper-secondary schools.
During the course, students adapt curriculum content and use it to plan a CLIL lesson that integrates both language and subject-specific objectives. The course is workshop-based and project-based, fostering critical reflection on the role of a CLIL teacher. Students design and adapt teaching materials and tasks that enable the effective introduction of topics specified in the Civic Education curriculum for the third educational stage delivered in English within the context of upper-secondary school teaching.

The graduate knows and understands:
S_W01: integrated and innovative approaches to designing educational processes in the context of bilingual education at the third stage of education
S_W03: the curriculum content of the school subject Civic Education at the third educational stage and the typical difficulties students face in mastering it
The graduate is able to:
S_U02: interpret the curriculum content of the school subject Civic Education at the third educational stage from the perspective of the current state of knowledge in related disciplines
S_U06: appropriately select, create, and adapt materials and resources, including information and communication technology, and work methods to independently design and effectively implement pedagogical, didactic, educational, and care activities within the subject Civic Education at the third educational stage
S_U14: use Polish correctly and employ subject-specific terminology appropriately for the students’ age in the school subject Civic Education at the third educational stage
The graduate is ready to:
S_K03: responsibly fulfill the role of a teacher, including developing professional achievements and upholding the ethos of the teaching profession, adhering to and promoting professional ethics, and acting in accordance with these principles while respecting every individual

Assessment criteria
Course Completion Requiremements:
Attendance is a prerequisite for passing the course (a maximum of one unexcused absence is allowed), as well as the timely completion of all partial assignments required both during on-site classes and on the Kampus e-learning platform.
The final grade is determined based on the results obtained through the adopted assessment methods, in accordance with the specified weights.
The use of AI tools and language-processing technologies is permitted only with the instructor’s consent and after prior approval of their intended scope of application. Using such tools without the instructor’s consent and prior agreement will be treated as a violation of academic integrity resulting in the work being considered non-independent and graded as unsatisfactory.
