(in Polish) Podstawy dydaktyki 4100-2SPODSDYD
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basics of general didactics as a theory of learning and teaching, which forms the foundation for preparing for the role of teacher. The course covers key concepts of didactics as a subdiscipline of pedagogy and the main theoretical trends and approaches related to the educational process. The course discusses educational objectives, teaching principles, the selection and organization of teaching content, lesson models, and teaching resources and methods, including current theories of learning.
Students learn about contemporary educational systems and concepts, as well as the legal foundations of the education system necessary for the proper implementation of educational activities. Issues related to planning and organizing the teaching process are analyzed, including developing a material breakdown, lesson design, and creating lesson plans. Teachers' work with students with diverse needs is also discussed, including ways to adapt teaching methods and work organization to students' abilities.
The course introduces the principles of didactic communication, the art of asking questions and facilitating classroom interaction, as well as assessment elements – formative assessment, diagnostic tools, and methods of providing feedback. Students learn to use didactic terminology in English, consistent with the requirements of professional teaching communication.
The course prepares students for responsible teacher and educator roles, emphasizing the teacher's role in modeling student attitudes and behaviors and the need to be guided by ethical principles and respect for each student. It also develops the competency of reflective practitioners – critically analyzing and designing teaching activities at all stages of education.
