The aim of the course is to broaden students' knowledge of selected innovative methods of teaching foreign languages and to reflect on their application in teaching practice. The course discusses approaches that have been tested and empirically verified in contemporary research on language teaching and language acquisition, allowing students to better understand their effectiveness and limitations in various educational contexts. The course provides an overview of current concepts and develops awareness of their diversity and potential applications in contemporary language teaching. It also fosters an attitude of professional responsibility and a willingness to seek expert support in problematic situations.
The course belongs to a group of advanced disciplinary courses that provide a theoretical foundation for education. It has been assigned to the discipline of linguistics.

Assessment criteria
Course assessment: written test with closed-ended questions. Written examination with open-ended questions.
Absence limit: 20%

60–67 – 3.0
68–76 – 3.5
77–84 – 4.0
85–93 – 4.5
Above 94 – 5.0
