Towards Sustainable Future: Gender Equality and the Work 4030-TSF
Classes concern concepts and problems related to sustainable development, equality, and the labor market, but in a universal perspective. They will be discussed, among others sustainable development goals, work in the system of sustainable development, decent work and economic growth, the state of income and employment in the world, barriers to employment, policies promoting economic opportunities and the future of work in a rapidly changing world, equality as an instrument to improve the situation of women and men in the market labor market and in particular sectors of the labor market, law as an instrument of achieving the goals of sustainable development.
Classes will cover issues of social inclusion, equality and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. Topics covered will include structural changes in the economy and work, job challenges, the modern welfare state and the future of work, women's employment, child labor, as well as issues of skills relevant to future generations. The program will include
1. The concept of equality - who needs it?
2. Equal rights in the context of sustainable development
3. The concept of decent work - what constructs it?
4. Can decent work happen without equality?
5. Equality issues as a methodology for creating legal and economic instruments
6. How to read statistics and extract data on gender breakdowns?
7. Competences of the future
8. Should we be afraid of automation?
9. Prospects for the development of the labor market
10. Instruments supporting equality in the labor market.
11. Education and equal treatment

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
- knows the basic concepts of sustainable development
- knows the basic concepts of the labor market
- knows the basic phenomena that will be a challenge for work in the future
- recognizes the phenomena related to precarious work or work that does not provide a decent income
- understands the importance of the goals of sustainable development
- understands the interdependence of decent work and equality
Assessment criteria
Active participation in classes, current assessment -60 points, test - 40 points, additional work - essay on a given topic 20 points
Passing threshold 60 points
