Prerequisites (description)

No specific prerequisites. The course is required to be familiar with the successive indicated reading. It is assumed the overall production of a student in the humanities and the orientation of the main currents of philosophy. Also assumes a general knowledge of political theory and its orientation in the classical texts of philosophy.

Learning outcomes

It is assumed that students will: (1) understand the complex relationship between cynicism and kynicism as well as understanding the psychological and sociological structure of cynicism; (2) be familiar with the main texts of Peter Sloterdijk; (3) be aware of the philosophical, sociological and political motifs invoked by this German philosopher; (4) be able to look critically at the hypotheses offered by Sloterdijk; (5) in their own work, be able to apply the means and techniques of thinking about society, nature and culture which Sloterdijk uses.

Assessment criteria

The main assessment criterion is the result of the final exam.
