3. Environment of higher education and research institutions
• the knowledge ecosystem;
• society and economy and their institutions.
4. University and research networks.
5. Knowledge transfer and commercialisation of research results.
6 System of evaluation of organisation and quality of academic education
• evaluation, accreditation, certification;
• university quality assurance systems;
• accreditation agencies in ENQA and the EQAR.
7. Rankings in higher education.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge - the student understands European Union policies, selected aspects of their management and their significance for enterprises and social organizations.
Skills - the student is able to prepare an oral presentation using adequate terminology in the field of European studies on the basis of properly selected sources and to undertake an academic discussion.
Social competences - the student is aware of the educational needs and of binding his/her professional biography with learning and improving social and specialist competences.
Assessment criteria
The condition of passing the course is continuous activity and presentation of a selected issue to the group.
Form of credit: continuous activity assessment and presentation of the issue (20% and 60%)
Final thesis - embedding the diploma thesis in the EU science and research system - 20%
Practical placement
The subject is not related to professional practice.
