Private Law 4003-EU-L12-PPP
The aim of the lecture is to outline the system of private law in Poland, taking into account the tendency of Europeanisation also in this field of law. The subject of the lecture will be the norms of civil law and copyright law.
The basic legal institutions and concepts from the analysed area will be presented (i.a. differences between public and private law, sources of civil and copyright law, private law subjects, legal capacity, capacity to perform legal acts, judicial capacity, declaration of will, forms of legal acts, legal goods as an object of private subjective rights, institutional protection of private subjective rights).
The lecture is interactive in nature.

Learning outcomes
EK 1- The student knows basic concepts of private law (he/she is able to use the conceptual grid of this field of law).
EK 2: He/she knows and is able to discuss the sources of civil law and to explain the place of private law in the system of law, he/she knows basic problems of the evolution of this field of law.
EK 3: He/she knows and is able to classify legal relations within private law.
EK 4: He/she has knowledge about institutions of private law and is able to use this knowledge in practice.
EK 5: The student is able to use basic legal acts within the subject matter of the classes; he/she is able to quote views of doctrine and basic theses from jurisprudence.
The student acquires basic knowledge of private law, which will enable him/her to understand the following subjects of the law.
Assessment criteria
Interactive lecture.
Written examination: 5 open-ended questions from the topics indicated above and discussed in the lecture.
