After completing the lecture, the students will:
– know key notions in the area of public international law,
– understand the significance of public international law for maintaining the international order
– know how international law is made,
– understand the significance of international agreements,
– know how to define the notion of ‘customary law’,
– know the sources of international law,
– understand what international responsibility involves,
– understand how international organisations function under international law,
– know the rules of international disputes,
– know the human rights regulations,
– know the legal basis for the use of force in international relations,
– have the ability to interpret international political events in terms of international law,
– have the ability to forecast the consequences of international disputes in terms of international law,
– have the ability to analyse cases of human rights violations on the domestic and international scale.
