The real world and the virtual world in the political and geopolitical perspective 3800-NZ-S4-23
The seminar will be devoted to philosophical problems arising from the so-called new technologies that, on many different levels, transform the way of life of modern people, as well as the way societies and countries function. The conceptual framework of the seminar is a reflection on a possible fundamental change that has taken place in recent decades. Classically, the order of nature (physis) was distinguished from the order of culture (nomos). Nowadays, the question can be asked whether the virtual world is a new quality or a new ontological dimension in human life. During the seminar we will focus on the political and geopolitical dimension resulting from the emergence of new technologies. These changes concern e.g. transformations in the shape of public space, the phenomenon of social polarization, globalization, etc.
From this perspective, we will analyze selected contemporary concepts that may prove useful for examining the given research problem.
