1. Presentation of principles and structure of a typical computer.
2. Description of the role and purpose of an operating system.
Exercises in basic operations on files and directories.
3. Review of standard applications (calculators, compression tools).
4. Description of internet browsers and search engines.
Exercises in searching for information on the Internet.
5. Discussion of the use of email systems.
Exercises in typical use cases (sending attachments, defining filters)
6. Editing of text documents in typical word processors.
Defining of the structure of the document and automating work (defining styles, automatic chapter numeration, automatic generation of a table of contents).
7. Presentation of the rules of proper spreadsheets definition.
Creating spreadsheets with typical tools.
Use of formulas for describing computations.
Typical spreadsheet functions (sum, if, vlookup etc.).
Creating charts.
8. Creating simple WWW pages in HTML language.
Defining the structure of the page. Proper encoding of polish characters. Use of basic tags (title, h1, h2, …, ul, ol, a, img, etc.).
If there is enough time also some elements of style sheets (CSS).
9. Creating presentations in typical tools.

Final grade assesses practical computer skills.
It is calculated from points gained by the student from their homework assignments and final test which takes place at the end of the semester in a laboratory.
