The Contemporary Spain. Culture 3700-KSM-WHK-ES

A seminar on the culture of contemporary Spain in Spanish language. Main stress will be laid on the most important elements of the Spanish culture, as wine, football, corrida, religious holidays and tourism, all these subjects analysed also with elements of the Spanish general material culture. The influence of this culture in the past and nowadays, including social changes, will be another subject of studies. The aim of the seminar is also a deep analysis of the evolution of cultural processes in Spain.
The texts chosen to be commented give students an opportunity to see various points of view.
The seminar will be realized in the framework of six main subjects.

Subject 3: Corrida
Subject 4: Christmas and Easter in Spain
Subject 5: Tourism
Subject 6: Social changes
