Learning French with Elements of Linguistics (2) 3700-CS1-2-NFR-1
Originally designed syllabus for students with a basic command of French (A2 level).
The course has two main objectives. The first one is to expand students’ knowledge of grammatical and lexical structures to enable them to cope in most communication situations and spontaneously carry on a conversation with a native speaker. The other goal is to familiarize students with various texts from contemporary French culture. Thus, the material presented in class will include articles from the French press, literary stories, films, commercials, etc.

Learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE: Expanding one’s vocabulary in different areas (history, education, geography, general knowledge). Knowledge on French grammar structures at the B1 level.
SKILLS: Developing different language skills: writing, speaking, listening comprehension, reading. Being able to speak on selected basic topics in French. Using basic French grammatical forms and syntactic structures in speech and writing. Being able to build short written statements on selected topics, in different forms.
SOCIAL COMPETENCES: Developing the need to continue learning and to expand lexical and grammatical knowledge to the advanced level.
