Learning outcomes
Knowledge. Students know and understand:
- basic methods of text interpretation - the importance of the comprehensive nature of language in philological and cultural studies, familiarized with the assumptions of language and culture semiotics.
- basic terminology in the field of literature and culture studies.
Skills. Students can:
- participate in discussions on various topics, including cultural studies, present logical arguments and draw critical conclusions,
- present the results of independent analysis of a simple academic text or research problem in written and oral form,
- prepare written essays, messages, reviews, simple scientific studies, summaries of scientific texts,
- independently extract the basic theses of the presentation / text,
- prepare a written and oral presentation.
Social competence. Students are ready to:
- improve intellectual skills,
- continuous development of teamwork skills in an interdisciplinary group,
- work in a group,
- implementing their own work plan, which is a contribution to given classes, improving mental work skills, active participation in the discussion respecting the views of partners.
Assessment criteria
Activity during classes, performance of tasks, preparing an academic text, preparing a presentation.
