Contemporary Italian cinema 3700-CS-WK-20
The classes are conducted in cooperation with a director from the Gian Maria Volonté Cinematography School in Rome, who directed well-known series broadcasted in the Italian TV, as well as many awarded movies. Historical and political context, in which Italian cinematography at the turn of the 20th and 21st century developed, shall also be presented. The classes shall be complemented with screening of selected films showing political, economic, social and cultural reality of the contemporary Italy, followed by the analysis by the lecturers and the attendees.

Knowledge:
- a student knows main genres in the Italian film at the turn of the 20th and 21st century
- is aware of the Italian reality regarding its political, economical, social and cultural life
- understands the film language as a genre
Skills:
- students can recognize and independently use the basic research methodologies within the contemporary literature, film and culture studies.
- can understand ad interpret films
- can prepare and read-out a paper in Italian

- students are aware of their knowledge and skills, understand the need of continuous studying and improving their personal culture
