(in Polish) History written in glyphs – introduction to Maya glyphs 3700-AL-HWG-qKR
The course is a series of workshops aimed at gaining general understanding of Maya glyphic texts, including their calendrical, historical and cultural content. It requires a minimum of 2-3 hours of work per week plus active participation in class activities. Before class, Students are required (in first part of the course) to read about 20 pages of text in English or (in second part of the course) to read an actual glyphic text. In class, Students work on fragments of or full glyphic texts reading them step by step. As the outcome of the course, each Student prepares a portfolio of several glyphic inscriptions with their transliteration, transcription and translation. All materials will be available in pdfs.
