Iranian Cinema: Culture, Religion, Society and Politics 3600-IR-KI-OW

The focal point of the lecture is Iranian cinema that is the most important both pre and post-revolutionary movie productions, most significant Iranian directors both male and female and events related to Iranian film industry. Lecture refers to the history of Iranian cinema, its stages of development, as well as problems and issues brought up in the movies. Iranian cinema will also serve as a starting point for discussing selected social, religious and political aspects modern Iranian culture. Where possible audio-visual materials will be used.
Oś wykładu stanowi kino irańskie, w tym najważniejsze zarówno przedrewolucyjne, jak i porewolucyjne produkcje filmowe, sylwetki najbardziej znaczących irańskich reżyserów i reżyserek oraz wydarzenia związane z irańskim przemysłem filmowym. Wykład odwoływać się będzie zarówno do historii kina irańskiego, jego etapów, jak również poruszanych w kinie problemów i zagadnień. Irańska kinematografia posłuży ponadto jako punkt wyjścia dla omówienia wybranych społecznych, religijnych i politycznych wymiarów współczesnej kultury Iranu. Zagadnienia omawiane podczas wykładu będą w miarę możliwości ilustrowane materiałami audio-wizualnymi.

Prerequisites (description)

(in Polish) min. średniozaawansowana znajomość języka angielskiego (wymagana przy zapoznawaniu się z literaturą oraz materiałem audio-wizualnym) Należy posiadać zakres wiedzy/umiejętności/innych kompetencji, jakie powinien posiadać student przed rozpoczęciem nauki przedmiotu (zdefiniować efekty uczenia się „na wejściu”). Korzystne byłoby wskazanie tych przedmiotów z oferty UW, których realizacja – czyli osiągnięcie przez studenta zdefiniowanych efektów uczenia się – ułatwią mu naukę opisywanego przedmiotu.
