Orientalist seminar. Linguistics 3600-7-WO4-KOJ
The course focuses on methodological aspects of linguistic analysis and interpretation of language data from a comparative perspective. The course has a form of a seminar during which the faculty and invited guests present current research topics from various areas of linguistic sciences. Each lecture is followed by a discussion with students’ participation. The seminar has an open character and each topic is announced in a little advance.
In addition to their participation in the seminar, the students are obliged to prepare a topic for their final presentation.

After completing a course a student has the following competence:
Knowledge:
in-depth and detailed knowledge (including terminology, theory and methodology) in linguistic studies,
knows and understands advanced analysis and interpretation methods of language material;
Skills:
can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources and can form critical judgement on its basis;
Competence:
is open to new ideas and trends, as well as to cultural and linguistic diversity in the world.
