Reading Turkish texts 3600-7-TU3-LTT(Z)
The purpose of the readings is to teach students to read with understanding literary texts (Turkish classics) and to acquaint them with basic translation techniques. The classes aim also to enrich their vocabulary of contemporary Turkish. Classes include reading, translating into Polish and analysis (as far as grammar and style is concerned) of various Turkish literary texts (short stories, parts of novels, essays). Students work during classes and at home using a variety of dictionaries (including traditional and on line ones and other Internet sources as well).
Term 2023Z:
Analysis and translation of literary texts on middle level of difficulty, including issues of intertextuality, linguistic devices and stylistic figures (such as ambiguity, polysemy, metaphor). Practicing translation techniques and strategies. Evaluating and confronting translation solutions, analyzing and correcting translation and language errors. |

Assessment criteria
Credit with note.
Continuous assessment based on attendance, preparation to the classes and activity during them, homework and control tests.
