Turkology Conversatorium 3600-7-TU3-KT(L)
The aim of the classes is to present important issues of Turkish literature, linguistics or ethnology of Turkey as well as socio-cultural problems of Turkey. The classes have form of a panel. Students prepare presentations in Polish or in Turkish or in conference languages on chosen topics upon literature suggested by the lecturer.

Knowledge:
o has basic knowledge of the place and importance of Oriental studies in the humanities and their specificity in relation to the subject and methodology [K_W01]
o has detailed and organized knowledge of socio-cultural issues of Turkey within the scope of natural environment and ethnic, demographic and political situation [K_W09]
o knows the state of research in chosen aspects pertaining to Turkey [K_W17]
o knows and understands basic analysis and interpretation methods of various products of culture characteristic of chosen theories and schools of research within the scope of cultural and literary studies, linguistics, philosophy and religion studies and history [K_W18]

Skills:
o can indicate sources of cultural differences between Turkey and other countries [K_U02]
o can use the basic terminology from the domain of philosophy and religion of Turkey [K_U03]
o can compare and perceive interrelations between chosen literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Turkey and the issues within the scope of tradition and modern times [K_U07]
o can use the knowledge of socio-cultural issues of Turkey in typical professional situations [K_U09]
o has a skill in presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Turkey in Polish and in Turkish taking into consideration the intellectual tradition of Turkey [K_U21]
o can communicate with specialists in the fields of academic research and in academic disciplines pertinent to the Oriental studies using contemporary IT technology [K_U25

Assessment criteria
Assessment with a note after each semester :
- continuous assessment (activity during the classes);
- at least one oral presentation in a foreign (European) language
