Proseminar 3600-7-TU2-PT2
The aim of the classes is to help students to prepare seminary dissertations. Students get acquainted with basic methodology used in research work and particular stages of preparing seminary dissertation (choosing a subject, researching and collecting information in literature and sources, presenting collected data in an ordered way, constructing bibliography, preparing foot-notes and quotations).

Knowledge:
o has basic knowledge of the place and importance of Turkish and Oriental studies in the humanities and their specificity in relation to the subject and methodology [K_W01]
o has organized general knowledge (including terminology, theory and methodology) in the scope of cultural studies [K_W02]
o knows the state of research in chosen aspects pertaining to Turkey and Turkish studies [K_W17]
o knows and understands basic analysis and interpretation methods of various products of culture characteristic of chosen theories and schools of research within the scope of cultural and literary studies, linguistics, philosophy and religion studies and history [K_W18]
o knows and understands the basic terms and rules of copyright and protection of intellectual property [K_W20]
Skills:
o can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources [K_U01]
o can use the basic terminology from the domain of philosophy and religion of Turkey [K_U03]
o can use the knowledge of history of Turkey to analyze and interpret events taking place in the modern world [K_U04]
o has the necessary skills to prepare seminar papers: can select and find sources and analyses in Turkish language, knows the methodology of writing seminar papers [K_U18]
o can use basic knowledge in the scope of methodology of cultural research in a seminar paper [K_U19]
o can choose and formulate a subject of a BA thesis, select and find sources in the Turkish language, make references to basic theoretical approaches [K_U20]
o has a skill in presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Turkey in Polish and in Turkish language taking into consideration the intellectual tradition of Turkey [K_U21]
o has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in Turkish language [K_U22]
o has the ability of substantive argumentation with the use of other authors’ views [K_U23]
o can use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and in Turkish language [K_U24]
o can communicate with specialists in the fields of academic research and in academic disciplines pertinent to the Oriental studies using contemporary IT technology [K_U25]

Assessment criteria
Activity during classes. , presentation on a chosen subject
Assessment with a note after each semester.
