Student Learning Outcomes:
K_W03: Has advanced knowledge of selected issues in Chinese culture (in the areas of culture and literature or philosophy and religion) of China.
K_U06: Can use concepts from Chinese philosophy and religion to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, ethical motifs, human behaviors, and differences between cultures.
K_U08: Can read, analyze, and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of cultural creativity (film, press, socially oriented writings) from China, Taiwan, and the Chinese linguistic area, correctly situating them within their cultural context.
K_U09: Can compare and thoroughly analyze relationships between selected literary texts and other works of cultural creativity from China and Taiwan (film, press, socially oriented writings) and issues of tradition and modernity.
K_U12: Can evaluate, select, and explain the most significant products of contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese culture.
K_K09: Recognizes the need to enrich their own tradition with positive philosophical, social, and cultural values from China and Taiwan, treating cultural synergy as an added value.
Assessment criteria
Attendance and active participation in classes are mandatory.
. Students are requested to write several short essays dedicated to specific issues addressed in the read texts (reading protocol).
Bibliography
Selection of texts dedicated to the fundamental elements of Chinese culture (foundations of political and ethical thought) and representing contemporary Chinese literary texts available in Polish.
