Knowledge of Chinese Language 3600-7-SI2-WJCH1
The course covers: basic information on the Chinese language (Modern Standard Chinese, Chinese dialects); history and evolution of the Chinese language; phonetic characteristics of the Chinese language; Chinese writing system (structural categories of Chinese characters; traditional and simplified characters); form classes in Chinese, their grammatical characteristics and syntactic functions (nouns, adjectives, numerals, pronouns, measure words, transitive and intransitive verbs, auxiliary verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, particles, interjections and onomatopoeias).

Knowledge
- has basic knowledge in the range of theory of humanities (linguistics) necessary to understand chosen cultural aspects (K_W04);
- has extensive knowledge of standard modern Chinese language (its structure, history, script) (K_W12);
- is aware of the complex nature of Chinese language, its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of China (K_W13);
- is aware of the linguistic variety and its influence on the cultural and political situation of the world (K_W14).
Skills
- has a good command of modern standard Chinese at the B2 level (K_U12);
- fluently uses the Chinese script and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.) (K_U16);
- properly functions in the linguistic and cultural environment of China (K_U17).
Social Competences
- understands the need to learn all one’s life (K_K01);
- acts in aid of sharing and promoting cultural and linguistic heritage of China (K_K08).
Assessment criteria
Attendance obligatory. 3 unjustified absences cause credit impossible.
