This course helps students understand the grammar problems comprised in the two textbooks used in other Chinese Language and Culture courses: HSK (STANDARD COURSE) 标准教程 and 当代中文课程 (A Course in Contemporary Chinese).
The teachers use the above-mentioned coursebooks as well as their own materials. The course acknowledges the differences between the coursebook from mainland China and the Taiwanese coursebook.

The grade is based on the results of written tests organized during the semster.

Rules Regarding Class Participation
- regular and punctual attendance in classes;
- active participation in exercises and discussions conducted during classes;
- systematic preparation for classes through revision of grammatical and lexical material and completion of homework assignments;
- completion of oral and written tasks related to the analysis of Chinese grammatical structures;
- preparation of short statements or example sentences illustrating the discussed issues;
- bringing the required teaching materials to class;
Homework Assignments
- systematic completion of homework assignments in accordance with the material covered during classes;
- timely submission of homework assignments in a form enabling their discussion during classes;
Requirements for Class Preparation
- systematic preparation for classes through ongoing acquisition of grammatical and lexical material;
- revision and consolidation of material from previous classes and its active practical application;
- preparation for practical tasks (oral and written) planned for classes;
- bringing the required teaching materials to class;
A total prohibition on electronic devices applies to all exams, tests, and quizzes. The use of any unauthorized aids, including artificial intelligence tools, is considered a violation of academic integrity.
During an exam, test, or quiz, the following actions are strictly prohibited: using notes, phones, smartwatches, headphones, or any other devices that allow access to information; consulting with others; looking at other students' papers; or tampering with exam materials.
If the use of unauthorized aids is detected, the exam or assessment is immediately terminated, and a failing grade is assigned.
Only materials previously specified or provided by the lecturer are permitted.
Mandatory attendance. Unless they can present a doctor's note (or another valid document proving they were not able to participate in classes), students can miss no more than 4 out of every 30 hours of classes during any semester. If the sum of missed classes (including periods of the student's medical leaves or other justified absences) exceeds one-half of the total number of classes, the student may be denied credit for the course. Students are obliged to present the documents excusing them from participation in classes within 7 days after the last day of their absence.
