LESSONS FOCUS ON LEARNING HOW TO WRITE A B.A. THESIS. THE FINAL EFFECT OF THE SEMINAR MAY BE A COMPLETE B.A. THESIS. LEARNING HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SUBJECT, SOURCE AND SECONDARY MATERIALS.
PRESENTATION OF THE PRINCIPLES OF THESIS COMPOSITION WITH REGARD TO THE MAIN FEATURES OF THE SUBJECT. A LECTURER WILL CONTROL COLLECTED MATERIALS AND THE STUDENTS’ RESEARCH ON THEM. STUDENTS WILL PRESENT SAMPLES OF THEIR RESEARCH RESULTS AND DISCUSS THEM.

After finishing the course, student:
- has the basic knowledge of the place and importance of Oriental studies in the humanities and their specificity in relation to the subject and methodology
- demonstrates a basic grasp of the contemporary cultural life of Mongolia and Tibet
- knows the state of research in chosen aspects pertaining to Inner Asia, Mongolia and Tibet
- knows and understands basic analysis and interpretation methods of various products of culture characteristic of chosen theories and schools of research within the scope of cultural and literary studies, linguistics, philosophy and religion studies and history
- knows and understands basic analysis and interpretation methods of various products of culture characteristic of local traditions in Mongolia and Tibet
- knows and understands the basic terms and rules of copyright and protection of intellectual property
- search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources
- uses the knowledge of the history of Inner Asia, Mongolia and Tibet to analyze and interpret events taking place in the modern world
- appropriately places Inner Asia, Mongolia and Tibet in the context of circumstances pertinent to natural, geopolitical and economic environment, - analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of the culture of Mongolia and Tibet (film, press, social writing) and appropriately place them in their cultural context
- has a good command of a foreign language at least at the B2 level
- analyzes and interpret source texts in Mongolian and Tibetan language
- interprets key terms from a culture of Inner Asia, Mongolia and Tibet through linguistic/philological analysis
- fluently uses the Classical and Modern Mongolian script, Tibetan and Manchu script and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, databases, etc.)
- properly functions in the linguistic and cultural environment of Mongolia and Tibet
- has the necessary skills to prepare seminar papers: can select and find sources and analyses in Mongolian and Tibetan language, knows the methodology of writing seminar papers
- can use basic knowledge in the scope of the methodology of cultural research in a seminar paper
- has a skill in presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Inner Asia, Mongolia and Tibet in Polish Mongolian and Tibetan language taking into consideration the intellectual tradition of Mongolia and Tibet
- has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and speech both in Polish and Mongolian and Tibetan language
- has the ability of substantive argumentation with the use of other authors’ views
- use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and Mongolian and Tibetan language
- communicates with specialists in the fields of academic research and academic disciplines pertinent to the Oriental Studies – Mongolian and Tibetan Studies using contemporary IT technology
- can acquire knowledge independently and develop research skills following the research supervisor’s instructions
- understands the need to learn all one’s life
- can cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations
- can set appropriate goals and ways to achieve them in the context of academic, professional and social activity
- is aware of the cultural distinctness and its religious, philosophical, traditional and historical roots and its significance for understanding the modern world
- acts in aid of sharing and promoting the cultural and linguistic heritage of Mongolia and Tibet
- is ready to initiate actions in favour of public interest and to think and act in an enterprising manner
