The aim of the seminar is choosing the right title of the thesis in the field of Korean language, litetature and culture, collecting Korean, English and Polish source materials, preparing the plan of the thesis and writing the thesis based on the discussed methodology.

Learning outcomes
-has in-depth and detailed knowledge (including terminology, theory and methodology) in studies on literature or language or culture and religion ,
- has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of the Orient or Africa (within the scope of culture and literature or language or culture and religion issues) in a comparative perspective,
- has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the culture of Korea (within the scope of culture and literature or language and religion or history and socio-political issues),
- has extended and deepened knowledge of the language of Korea,
- has detailed knowledge pertaining to the state of research on chosen issues related to Korea as well as in-depth knowledge of research centres in Poland and all over the world,
- knows and understands methods of advanced analysis and interpretation of various products of culture in Korea, which are relevant for selected traditions, theories and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture and religion,
- knows and understands the local academic tradition (methods of analysis, interpretation and evaluation) in the context of Korea,
- demonstrates good knowledge of contemporary cultural life of Korea,
- has genuine knowledge of rules of communication, writing, reading in Korean (contemporary and/or classical/dead language),
- has wide and profound knowledge of the structures and social relations as well as socio-cultural behavior in Korea, which enables professional verbal communication in social and intercultural contexts
- knows and understands the rules of copyright and intellectual property management,
- can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources and can form critical judgement on its basis,
- can indicate sources of cultural differences between different regions of the Orient or Africa, also on the basis of source materials
- can acquire knowledge independently and enhance research skills as well as develop abilities to build a professional career
- can use the knowledge in the field of Oriental studies to expand knowledge of humanities
- can use the knowledge in the field of Oriental studies to solve problems relating to cultural differences in professional situations
- can use the terminology from the domain of religion of Korea to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, ethical motives and social behavior, as well as cultural differences
- can analyze relationship between the development of philosophical and religious ideas in Korea as well as social, cultural and economic processes
can read, analyze and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Korea and appropriately place them in their cultural context
- can compare and thoroughly analyze interrelations between selected literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Korea, and the issues of tradition and modernity
- can carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture of Korea appropriate to a selected tradition, theory and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture and religion employing unique attitude of Oriental studies
- can analyze most important phenomena in the field of history, as well as socio-political, linguistic or cultural context of Korea
- can evaluate, select and describe most important products of contemporary culture in Korea
- has a good command of a foreign language at least at the B2+ level
has a good command of Mongolian or Tibetan language at the B2 level
- can behave in an adequate way, react verbally and mediate in communication in a selected socio-cultural context of Korea
- can choose and formulate a subject of an MA thesis, select and find sources in Korean language, refer to certain theories and other sources
- acquires ability to describe in Polish and Korean languages diverse aspects of Korean culture, taking into consideration the intellectual traditions of Korea
- acquires ability to formulate own opinions and conclusions in both writing and spoken in Polish and Korean
- understands the need to learn all one’s life, can inspire and organize other people’s process of learning
- can actively cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations
- can actively establish relations and cooperate with representatives of other cultures
- can set appropriate goals and ways to achieve them in the context of academic, professional and social activity
- is open to new ideas and trends as well as cultural diversity
- has awareness of the differences stemming from cultural, religious and philosophical variety and their influence on shaping social and political attitudes as well as economic processes
- understands responsibility and ethical issues that come with imparting knowledge of Korea
