Korean language and culture - conversations with elements of cultural knowledge 3600-7-KO4-JiKK-k(Z)
Classes in the framework of the university language courseKorean at the B2 + level. Classes focused mainly on developing the habit of self-expanding vocabulary and complex syntactic constructions. Educating the skills to recognize and apply linguistic nuances and expanding mastered semantic fields in Korean. Developing the ability to express thoughts in oral and written statements at the complex in the field of humanities, with the focus on the use of phraseology (collocation, idioms). Strengthening communication skills in terms of listening comprehension and speaking, including the vocabulary characteristic of the language of the media, science, philosophical and religious literature, culture, literature and art. Further learning colloquial language and complicated courtesy phrases.

Student after completing the course provided for by the program:
KNOWLEDGE:
- has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of Korea (within the scope of culture and literature or language or philosophy and religion or history and socio-political issues) in a comparative perspective[K_W02];
- has extended and deepened knowledge of the language of Korean Peninsula [KW04];
- knows and understands the local academic tradition (methods of analysis, interpretation and evaluation) in the context of Korea [KW07];
- demonstrates good grasp of contemporary cultural life of Korea [KW08];
- has genuine knowledge of rules of communication, writing, reading in Korean language (contemporary and/or classical/dead language) [KW09];
SKILLS:
- can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources and can form critical judgement on its basis [K_U01];
- can indicate sources of cultural differences between the countries of the Far East (Korea, China, Japan), also on the basis of source materials [K_U02];
- can acquire knowledge independently and enhance research skills as well as develop abilities to build a professional career [K_U03];
- ccan use the knowledge in the field of Korean studies to solve problems relating to cultural differences in professional situations [K_U05];
- can use the terminology from the domain of philosophy and religion of Korea to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, ethical motives and human behaviours, as well as cultural differences [K_U06];
- can read, analyze and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Korea and appropriately place them in their cultural context [K_U08];
- can compare and thoroughly analyze interrelations between chosen literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of Korea and the issues within the scope of tradition and modern times [K_U09];
- can analyze most important phenomena in the area of history, socio-political, linguistic or cultural situation of Korea [K_U11];
- can evaluate, select and explain most important products of contemporary culture in Korea [K_U12];
- can select and translate into Polish most valuable literary works/writings of Korea [K_U13];
- has a good command of Korean at the level B2+ [K_U15];
- can behave in a professional way, react verbally and mediate in communication and negotiations in a chosen socio-cultural context of Korea [K_U16];
- can choose and formulate a subject of an MA thesis, select and find sources in Korean language, make references to a range of theoretical approaches and other sources [K_U17];
- has superior skill at presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Korea in Polish and in Korean language taking into consideration the intellectual tradition of Korean Peninsula [K_U18];
- has superior skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in Korean language [K_U19];
- can expertly use advanced electronic and internet tools in Polish and in Korean language [K_U21];
