Korean language and culture - exam 3600-7-KO3-JiKEGZ(L)
Classes as part of the university course for practical learning of the Korean language at B2 level.
Classes focused mainly on intensive expansion of vocabulary and complex syntactic structures. Consolidating the automaticity of speaking and the ability to express thoughts in writing at the level of complex statements, with emphasis on the use of phraseology (idioms and proverbs).
Consolidating communication skills in the field of listening with understanding and speaking, taking into account vocabulary characteristic of various aspects of social life and selected issues of the humanities, with particular emphasis on the specificity of Korea. Introduction of contemporary texts of specialized press language, journalism, and non-fiction (with a low level of difficulty).
Developing the ability to formulate complex static descriptions (objects, people, surroundings) and dynamic descriptions (activities, states and situations). Further study of colloquial language and honorifics at a higher level of complexity.

The student, upon completion of the course provided in the program:
KNOWLEDGE
- Has extensive knowledge of the Korean language (its structure, history, writing) [K_W12];
- is aware of the complex nature of the Korean language, its place and significance in the context of Korean culture and history [K_W13];
- is aware of linguistic diversity and its impact on the cultural and political situation of the world [K_W14];
- has detailed knowledge of the principles of translation from Korean into Polish [K_W15].
Skills:
- can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of Korean cultural creativity (film, press, social writing) correctly placing them in a cultural context [K_U06];
- can apply knowledge of socio-cultural issues in typical professional situations [K_U09];
- is able to use the Korean language at the B2 level [K_U12];
- can analyze and interpret source texts in Korean [K_U13];
- is able to translate literary/literary texts from Korean into Polish [K_U14];
- can interpret key concepts of Korean culture through linguistic/philological analysis [K_U15];
- can proficiently use the writing system and the tools for its cognition and analysis (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, language corpora, databases, etc.) [K_U16];
- is able to function correctly in the Korean linguistic and cultural environment [K_U17];
- has the ability to present detailed issues of Korean cultural issues in Korean with consideration of Korean intellectual tradition [K_U21];
- has the ability to formulate, orally and in writing, his own opinions and conclusions in Korean [K_U22];
- is able to use electronic and Internet tools in Polish and Korean [K_U24].

Assessment criteria
The final grade is awarded solely on the basis of competences demonstrated in the oral test (in the examination session).
The following criteria are taken into account in the assessment:
- communication skills (fluency, comprehensibility, interactive communication),
- language skills (including active mastery of the material in the field of: vocabulary, grammar, expressions/phrases/idioms/proverbs, pronunciation, etc.; correctness).
