Proseminar 3600-7-KO2-P(L)
The aim of the course is to master the techniques and the style of writing B.A. theses. During classes students learn the basic principles of the technique of writing a thesis.
During the seminar, participants present various aspects of Korean literature and culture, according to their interests. The debate helps the students to formulate the subject of B.A. thesis.

K_W01: the place and importance of Oriental studies in the humanities and their specificity in relation to the subject and methodology
K_W17: knows the state of research in chosen aspects pertaining to Korea
K_W20: knows and understands the basic terms and rules of copyright and protection of intellectual property
K_U01: search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources
K_U07: can compare and perceive interrelations between chosen literary texts and other works of culture of Korea (film, press, social writing) and the issues within the scope of tradition and modern times
K_U08: analyze most important phenomena/trends in art (painting, sculpture, architecture, other fields) of Korea
K_U11: has a good command of a foreign language at least at the B2 level
K_U14: can translate literary texts and writings from Korean into Polish
K_U15: interpret key terms from a culture of Korea countries through linguistic/philological analysis
K_U16: interpret key terms from a culture of Korea countries through linguistic/philological analysis
K_U18: has the necessary skills to prepare seminar papers: can select and find sources and analyses in Korean, knows the methodology of writing seminar papers
K_U19: can use basic knowledge in the scope of methodology of cultural research in a seminar paper
K_U20: choose and formulate a subject of a BA thesis, select and find sources in Korean, make references to basic theoretical approaches
K_U21: has a skill in presenting detailed aspects within the scope of cultural issues of Korea in Polish and in Arabic taking into consideration the intellectual tradition of Korea
K_U22: has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and Korean
K_U23: has the ability of substantive argumentation with the use of other authors’ views
K_U24: use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and Korean
K_U25: communicate with specialists in the fields of academic research and in academic disciplines pertinent to the Oriental Studies – Korean Studies using contemporary IT technology
K_U26: can acquire knowledge independently and develop research skills following the research supervisor’s instructions
K_K01: understands the need to learn all one’s life
K_K04: set appropriate goals and ways to achieve them in the context of academic, professional and social activity
