Oriental language and culture - Japanese 3600-7-KM5-JKOJ(L)
Continuation of basic course of modern, standard Japanese language (hyōjungo) started in 1st year. Presentation of broader scope of grammar constructions, verb and adjective conjugations. Introduction to basic grammar categories: time, negation, functional particles, polite expressions. Presentation of basic concepts of pragmatics.
Grammar on A1/A2 level (JLPT N5/N4 level).
Classed conducted in Polish language.

- broaden and deep knowledge about language functions in social and cultural areas with reference to a chosen oriental/African language K_W11 (J/NKR)
a student can
- point out sources of cultural differences of various civilizations K_U02 (NKR)
- use language, religion, culture concepts of a chosen region of Asia or Africa in order to analyze and interpret religious phenomena, human behaviour, moral motives and differences among cultures K_U06 (NKR)
- analyze and interpret culture texts (film, newspapers, literary production etc.) of chosen regions putting them in cultural context correctly K_U08 (NKR)
- use an oriental/African language on A1 level K_U14 (NKR)
- behave professionally, react and mediate in communication or negotiations in chosen socio-cultural context of chosen regions K_U14 (NKR)

Assessment criteria
Evaluation will be based on:
class attendance (at least 50 per cent in semester)
in case of absence sick leave should be presented
up to two absences without a sick leave are possible
activity during classes
returning all homework on time
