The course is aimed at deepening the translation skills from classical, literary Japanese. The main task is to prepare students to read and understand historical or literary texts written in classical Japanese with the use of classical Japanese dictionaries (kogojiten)

Knowledge: alumnus knows and understands
K_W02: has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of the Orient or Africa (within the scope of culture and literature or language or culture and religion issues) in a comparative perspective

K_W06: knows and understands methods of advanced analysis and interpretation of various products of Japanese culture, which are relevant for selected traditions, theories and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture and religion

K_U10: can carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture of Japan appropriate to a selected tradition, theory and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture, religion or history employing an attitude of Oriental studies
K_U13: can select and translate into Polish most valuable literary works/writings of Japan
K_U15: has a good command of Japanese language at the B2 level
Social skills: alumnus is ready to
K_K08: understands and appreciates the value of tradition and cultural heritage of one’s own country and of Japan
