Japanese Language and Culture 1 3600-7-JA5-JKJ1
The aim of the course is to enhance students' four language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing, as well to develop the communication skills and fluency in spoken Japanese.
Through various materials, such as literature, newspaper articles, song lyrics, exercises from workbooks and audiovisual materials, students will improve their Japanese skills to the level of proficiency.
Students will also learn N1 level grammar of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and various phrases that can be used in business situations and become proficient in honorific expressions.

Assessment criteria
Students will be evaluated by
- sufficient attendance
- preparation for the class and assertive participation
- midterm exam
- written examination in the end of the semester
- oral examination in the end of the semester
Absences without excuses are limited to four times in the first semester and two times in the second semester. Absences, regardless of excuses, must not exceed 50% of the planned number of lessons.
