Japanese language and culture - business culture, economic issues2 3600-7-JA4-JKJKB(L)
Interactive group sessions aim to enhance students' overall language competencies and practice using these skills in a Japanese-language environment, with respect for cultural diversity. Particular emphasis is placed on learning and applying practical elements of business culture knowledge, including appropriate manners and behaviors, suitable linguistic expressions, and more. The focus also includes Polish-Japanese economic relations and the ability to describe them in Japanese. Representatives of Japanese businesses in Poland may be invited to participate in the classes, and students may visit them and conduct interviews as part of fieldwork.
Familiarity with business culture / appropriate manners and behaviors:
Students will engage in group discussions about problems in business situations caused by cultural misunderstandings. Through these discussions, they will learn about business culture and the differences between Japan and Poland.
Students will study basic business etiquette using textbooks and audio materials.
Appropriate use of language in business situations:
Using textbooks, students will learn suitable vocabulary, expressions, and how to construct proper conversations in business scenarios.
Activities focused on Polish-Japanese economic relations and the ability to describe them in Japanese:
Students will prepare a classroom presentation on Polish-Japanese economic relations.

Assessment criteria
In the first semester, assessment is based on a written test; in the second semester, a written test and an oral response are required.
Continuous assessment (ongoing preparation for classes and participation).
Assignments (homework, fieldwork, and presentations).
Attendance monitoring (a maximum of two absences per semester is allowed).
Opportunity for early examination.
