B.A. Seminar 3600-7-JA3-SL1
The seminar prepares the participants technically and substantially for writing their B.A. dissertation that meets the requirements for a research paper, as well as for the undergraduate examination. Participants are required to actively participate, including preparing papers on selected topics in Japanese literature or history, or religion and philosophy, or aesthetics and art, or linguistics. Students should demonstrate their ability to collect and to analyse materials. The participants are expected to take an active part in the seminar, both through an active discussion and preparing papers on selected topics. At the final stage, the student writes a bachelor's thesis and presents its fragments at the seminar.

Assessment criteria
The basis for passing is presenting speeches, presentations or written works agreed during the classes, as well as active participation in the classes.
Two unexcused absences are allowed per semester. In addition, sick leave is accepted (described for example as: unable to participate in class due to illness).
