Japanese language and culture - conversations 3600-7-JA1-JKJK1
This language course is based on Japanese culture and covers the basic aspects of contemporary, standard Japanese (hyōjungo). The course utilizes primarily audiovisual materials to help students practice functioning in a Japanese cultural context, appropriate to diverse circumstances in everyday, cultural, and educational life.

The purpose of the course is to introduce students to everyday, colloquial Japanese, show social variety of language and levels of politeness. The course shall help with the practice of grammatical forms that are taught during other language courses, gaining fluency in Japanese through composing statements useful in everyday life situations. |

apply knowledge of Japan’s socio-cultural issues in typical professional situations, taking into account cultural specificity and intercultural communication strategies [K_U06];
analyze and interpret source texts in Japanese [K_U08, K_U13];
function effectively in the linguistic and cultural environment of Japan [K_U17]
Assessment criteria
Two unexcused absences are permitted.
In the winter semester, students take a written test assessing knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar covered in class, as well as the ability to form simple sentences in Japanese.
Pre-session assessment possible.
