Grammar of Japanese Language 1 3600-7-JA1-GjJ1
The exercises deal with the basic issues of modern standard Japanese (known as hyōjungo) in phonetics,
syntax, inflection, vocabulary, etc. The constructions learned, etc., are introduced according to the material discussed in the lecture:
Knowledge of the Japanese Language and language block classes (specialty subjects).
Emphasis is placed on practical mastery of the ability to create conjugation forms of verbs and adjectives, the automaticity of
use of them and the correctness of applying them in appropriate constructions; functional use of relevant parts of speech, with particular attention to those of great importance for grammar (partials, etc.); the ability to constructing correct simple and complex sentences, as well as correct translations.

KNOWLEDGE
The student after completing the course provided in the program:
Knowledge:
- has a comprehensive knowledge of the Japanese language (its structure, grammar, history, writing) (K_W12)
- is aware of the complex nature of the Japanese language, its place and importance in the context of Japanese culture and history (K_W13)
- has basic knowledge of the principles of translation from Japanese into Polish (K_W15)
SKILLS
- can speak Japanese at B2 level (K_U12)
- can translate literary texts/writings from Japanese into Polish (K_U14)
- can function correctly in the linguistic and cultural environment of Japan (K_U17)
COMPETENCES
- understands the need for lifelong learning (K_U01)
Assessment criteria
The following criteria will be used in the evaluation:
- Class attendance (at least 50 percent attendance in the semester),
- in case of absence - a sick note is necessary
- preparation for classes, activity in classes, mastery of current material,
- mid-semester written tests, the passing of which will be a fundament condition for admission to semester and annual credit.
Passing grade in the semester settlement, exam in the annual settlement.
Assessment: weighted average of written test (70 percent) and mid-semester test (30 percent).
Medical certificates (sick leave notes) must be submitted in person immediately after returning to classes.
A medical certificate does not exempt the student from being aquainted with the material covered during classes.
Students who have been granted permission for an Individual Study Organization (IOS) are required to contact the course instructor in order to determine the method of completing all learning outcomes assigned to the course.
If it is not possible to achieve the above-mentioned learning outcomes, the instructor may refuse to grant course credit.
