The subject is taught as a follow-up to the lecture of History of Persian Literature and its aim is to make students familiar with the literary output of various schools and authors representing particular epochs in the history of Persian literature. Students should learn how to read and translate Persian artistic texts, and as
far as poetry is concerned, to perform it and to give its semantic and structural analysis (including analysis of its rhythm and meter).

Following completion of this course students should have acquired the following knowledge, skills and competence:
KNOWLEDGE:
- has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the practical dimension of Persian literature in a comparative perspective [K_W02];

- knows and understands advanced analysis and interpretation methods of various products of Persian culture within the scope of literary research [K_W06];

can indicate sources of cultural differences between diverse regions in the Orient, alsoon the basis of source materials [K_U02];

can read, analyze and interpret advanced literary texts and other works of culture and appropriately place them in their cultural context [K_U08];

can carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture in a way which is appropriate to a chosen tradition, theory and research school within the scope of literary studies, employing unique approaches that take into account the knowledge in the field of Oriental studies [K_U10];

can select and translate into Polish most valuable Persian literary works/writings [K_U13];
has a good command of Persian language at the advanced level [K_U15].

has awareness of the differences stemming from cultural variety and valuable legacy of Persian literature and their influence on shaping social and political attitudes in modern times [K_K06];
understands and appreciates the value of tradition and cultural heritage of one’s own country and of Iran [K_K08];
can see the need to enrich one’s own tradition by adding positive philosophical, social and cultural values of Iran, treats cultural synergy as an added value [K_K09];
actively acts in aid of sharing and promoting cognitive and aesthetic values as defined and learned at the class [K_K11].
