Reading Persian Texts 2 3600-7-IR2-LTP2
Classes are conducted in the form of exercises, during which students read with understanding texts in standard Persian language. Classes are focused on reading and translating from Persian into Polish language texts like literature (short stories, parts of novels), poetry or press articles. Classes are aimed at enriching vocabulary and developing ability to understand and translate with the help of a traditional dictionaries and internet sources. The stress is put on developing proper linguistic habits such as correct accent, intonation and pronunciation.
Term 2023L:
This is an academic reading and comprehension class based on texts in Classical and Modern Persian, according to relevant level of the Faculty’s curriculum. Students learn how to read and translate cultural texts in prose (excerpts from modern short stories or novels and classical prose), classic and contemporary poetry, and journalism (shorter papers, columns). First of all, the classes will help students in reading and comprehension skills including reading literary texts properly and fluently. The classes will also enable students in enriching their vocabulary and developing translation skills into Polish in a very proper way using dictionaries as well as referring to on-line sources. The stress will be put on how to use monolingual dictionaries (Persian to Persian). Developing relevant linguistic behaviours regarding accent, intonation and pronunciation will be essential. The class will also result in students becoming familiar with modern and classical Persian literature. |

has organized knowledge of some aspects of literature and writings of Iran

can analyze and interpret source texts in a Persian language
can translate literary texts and writings from a Persian language into Polish
can interpret key terms from a culture of Iran/ Afghanistan through linguistic/philological analysis
can fluently use the script of a Persian language and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.)
can use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and in Persian language
can cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations
can establish relations and cooperate with representatives of Iran and Afghanistan cultures

Student is eligible to have 2 unexcused absences in the semester. Exceeding this limit results in failing to pass the classes.
