Introduction to the Religions of the Iranian World 3600-7-IR1-WRSI(Z)
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the most important religions and philosophical-religious systems of the Iranian world – from antiquity to modern times. Particular emphasis is placed on discussing, in their historical evolution, the key ideas, beliefs, and rituals that form the foundations of Iranian religious identity. The course introduces their influence on contemporary Iranian culture. A significant component of the classes is the reading and interpretation of selected religious texts, enabling a deeper understanding of the ideological worldview characteristic of various religious movements. The course is conducted as a lecture with elements of a seminar.
