BA Seminar 3600-7-IN3-SLB(Z)
The seminar is aimed at broadening and deepening students’ knowledge pertaining to essential aspects of literary and socio-cultural
phenomena in South Asia, acquired by students during previous years of studies, as well as developing skills at analysing and
synthesising them. This purpose is realised, firstly, in the form of presentations of the student’s own work on a chosen subject of BA
dissertation (the subject has to be approved by the teacher; it can also be suggested by the teacher) to all participants of the seminar, and,
secondly, during common reading and analysis of works selected by the teacher.

Assessment criteria
– attendance control
– presentation of students’ own topics (a student can choose BA thesis topic accepted by the tutor, or the topic is proposed by the tutor,
ultimately approved by the Council on Scientific FOS UW)
– continuous assessment
– submission of the first chapter of the BA thesis (around 10 pages)

The work of course participants must be the product of their own intellectual activity, based on the analysis of sources and literature retrieved from libraries, archives, and digital databases. Students bear full responsibility for the content of their work. Including fabricated facts or false bibliographic citations (i.e. with the use of AI tools) will result in an automatic failure of the course (a failing grade) and disciplinary action, regardless of the text preparation method declared by the student. |
