Socio-cultural issues of India 3600-7-IN2-ZSKI(Z)
The course provides students with knowledge about the contemporary social and cultural dynamics of India and South Asia. Topics include the modern relevance of the caste and class systems, the situation of women, family models, and LGBT+ issues. It also explores rural-urban differences, internal and international migration. Additionally, the course highlights the richness of regional cultures, including musical and culinary traditions, cinema, and popular culture.
