(in Polish) Translatorium (L) 3600-7-HE4-T(L)
The classes cover issues related to Hebrew linguistics and literary studies and the practical aspects of the work of a translator of Hebrew, as well as the cultural context of the translation and its impact on the translation process. The first part of the classes will be devoted to an introduction, which aims to familiarize students with the translation process and the difficulties associated with it, with the specificity of the translator's workshop and key competences. They will be supplemented by practical exercises using the acquired linguistic and cultural knowledge. As part of the exercises, students will translate in writing fragments of texts often found in the work of a translator of Hebrew, they will also have the opportunity to compare the work of a literary translator and, for example, a sworn translator. Students will also make mutual text edition. The number and type of texts will depend on the students' language proficiency and their pace of work.
