Master's seminar 3600-7-HE4-SM(Z)
During the classes, students learn the principles of methodology used in scientific work and the subsequent stages of preparing a master thesis:
- choice of the topic of work
- searching for and collecting materials and information contained in studies and source texts.
- presenting the state of knowledge on a selected topic (research state)
- preparation of the work outline,
- presenting the collected materials in an orderly manner,
- constructing a bibliography, correct preparation of footnotes and citations,
- writing subsequent chapters of the work.

Learning outcomes
The alumnus:
- has detailed knowledge pertaining to the state of research on chosen issues related toJews and Israel as well as in-depth knowledge of research centres in Poland and all over the world [K_W05]
- knows and understands methods of advanced analysis and interpretation of various products of culture of teh Jews and of Israel, which are relevant for selected traditions, theories and research schools within the scope of studies on
- knows and understands the rules of copyright and intellectual property management [ K_W11]
The alumnus is able to:
-acquire knowledge independently and enhance research skills as well as develop abilities to build a professional career[ K_U03]
- carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different products of culture of Israel and the Jews appropriate to a selected tradition, theory and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture and religion employing unique attitude of Oriental studies [K_U10]
- choose and formulate a subject of an MA thesis, select and find sources in Hebrew, refer to certain theories and other sources [ K_U17]
- acquires ability to describe in Polish and Hebrew diverse aspects ofIsraeli and Jewish culture, taking into consideration the intellectual traditions of Israel [ K_U18]
- acquires ability to formulate own opinions and conclusions in both writing and spoken in Polish and Hebrew [ K_U19]
- acquires ability to argument on substantive basis using other authors’ views [ K_U20]
- proficiently use advanced electronic and internet tools in Polish and in Hebrew [ K_U21]
The alumnus is ready to:
- set appropriate goals and ways to achieve them in the context of academic, professional and social activity [ K_K04]
Assessment criteria
Based on attendance, activity in classes and homework (subsequent chapters of the bachelor thesis).
Pass without a grade.
