Socio-cultural problems of Israeli 3600-7-HE3-ZSKI(Z)
The course acquaints students with the history of the State of Israel and its most important social and political issues, such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, internal problems of the state (new immigrants, the army, the place of religion in social and political life, society's attitude to the peace process in the Middle East, etc.) ). More important issues will be supported by learning about cultural texts: Israeli films, music, literature.

Student:
- has detailed and organized knowledge of socio-cultural issues in Israel within the scope of natural environment and ethnic, demographic and political situation
- can name and characterize basic cultural phenomena of Judaism and Israel
- has organized knowledge of natural, geopolitical and economic environment and their importance for the historical and contemporary situation of the Jews and Israel
- can indicate sources of cultural differences in Israel and the Jews in the diaspora
- can use the knowledge of history of the Jews and Israel to analyze and interpret events taking place in the modern world
- can appropriately place Israel and the Jews in the context of circumstances pertinent to natural, geopolitical and economic environment
- can use the knowledge of socio-cultural issues in Israel in typical professional situations
- has awareness of the cultural distinctness and its religious, philosophical, traditional and historical roots and its significance for understanding modern world
- is aware of significance the culture of Israel has for the culture of the world
