Knowledge of the Hebrew language 3600-7-HE2-WJH(Z)
After discussing the problems of phonetics, phonology and verbal morphology in the previous part of the course (semesters 1-2) notions connected with the remaining parts of speech are dealt with. The most common nominal and adjectival patterns are characterized, along with their diachronic development and semantic profile. This is followed by a presentation of the pronouns and the deictic system they form, illustrated with examples which introduce the syntactic and discourse analysis viewpoint. Later on, the rest of the parts of speech is presented, namely the adverbs, prepositions and particles, together with their inflectional patterns. Next, syntactic phenomena are dealt with, considering the characteristics of the elements of the clause to being with, and later of the nominal clause and the copula in Hebrew. This is followed by discussing the simple and subordinate verbal clauses and the semantics of the verbal forms.

Assessment criteria
Durgin the first term, two written tests worth 50% of the final mark each, in the second term one test (40%) and a written final exam (60%) make up the final mark. Ongoing verification of the progress. Evaluation scale:
60-65% - 3
66-70% - 3+
71-75% - 4
76-85% - 4+
86-90 - 5
91-100 - 5!
