The aim is the reading of Egyptian texts, their analysis in the linguistic and cultural context, and a preparation to individual work with an Egyptian text. Literary, historical and religious texts will be read.

The student should:
Knowledge:
- recognize and analyze the grammatical constructions of the Middle Egyptian;
- have the basic knowledge about the translation of the Middle Egyptian texts;
Skills:
- read the Middle Egyptian texts;
- know how to use the reference works (dictionaries, grammars);
Competence:
- understand the meaning of the Middle Egyptian for the culture of Ancient Egypt.
