Reading of the ancient Egyptian texts written with hieratic in Middle and Late Egyptian (Middle and New Kingdom). The aim is gaining knowledge of the hieratic script used in various periods of Egyptian history through practical reading of hieratic texts – literary, historical and economic.

Learning outcomes
The student should:
Knowledge:
- recognize and analyze the grammatical constructions of the Middle and Late Egyptian;
- have the basic knowledge about the translation of the Middle and Late Egyptian texts;
Skills:
- read the hieratic texts in Middle and Late Egyptian;
- know how to use the reference works (dictionaries, grammars, paleographies);
Competence:
- understand the meaning of the Middle and Late Egyptian for the culture of ancient Egypt.
