Specialized course 3600-7-AR5-PS
The course of the class depends on students’ individual interests and on the level of their proficiency in both individual research and Arabic language. The discussed topics vary from year to year and are related to the problems typical for manuscript studies. The general discussion of the presented issues is to show students how to use Arabic manuscripts. Generally, the class provides tutorship for students whose interests include, above all, history and cultural history.

K_W01, has in-depth and detailed knowledge (including terminology, theory and methodology) in studies on literature or language or culture and religion
K_W02, has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of the Orient or Africa (within the scope of culture and literature or language or culture and religion issues) in a comparative perspective
K_W03, has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the culture of Arab countries (within the scope of culture and literature or language and religion or history and socio-political issues)
K_W05, has detailed knowledge pertaining to the state of research on chosen issues related to Arab countries as well as in-depth knowledge of research centres in Poland and all over the world
K_W06, knows and understands methods of advanced analysis and interpretation of various products of culture in Arab countries, which are relevant for selected traditions, theories and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture and religion
K_W07, knows and understands the local academic tradition (methods of analysis, interpretation and evaluation) in the context of Arab countries
K_W10, has wide and profound knowledge of the structures and social relations as well as socio-cultural behavior in Arab countries, which enables professional verbal communication in social and intercultural contexts
K_U01, can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources and can form critical judgement on its basis
K_U02, can indicate sources of cultural differences between different regions of the Orient or Africa, also on the basis of source materials
