Master's seminar 3600-7-AR4-SM2.1
Development of student’s interests in selected topics of Muslim culture, in particular theology, philosophy, political theory, current events and other problems of Muslim culture and society. Meetings are arranged individually in order to help students shape and make their personal interests more precise. Technical problems of writing the M.A. thesis are discussed, especially style, notes, bibliography, methodology of research depending on the topic, use of sources, incl. the Web. Difference between primary and secondary sources. Extensive discussion of student’s results. Bibliography is selected individually

has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of the Orient or Africa (within the scope of culture and literature or language or culture and religion issues) in a comparative perspective
has detailed knowledge pertaining to the state of research on chosen issues related to Middle East as well as in-depth knowledge of research centres in Poland and all over the world
knows and understands methods of advanced analysis and interpretation of various products of culture in the Middle East and Arabic countries, which are relevant for selected traditions, theories and research schools within the scope of studies on literature, language, culture and religion
Assessment criteria
Written conspect of MA thesis and research plan.
Continuous assessment.
Attendance control - a student can be absent max. twice during the semester; in the case of absence due to illness, the medical certificate excusing this absence should be submitted within seven work days of the last day of the leave specified in the certificate.
