Reading Arabic Texts 3600-7-AR3-LTA(Z)
The course focuses on reading and translation of the texts representing various genres and themes in the classical and modern Arabic literature (poetry and prose, theological and philosophical literature, historiography, travelogues, essays and research in the field of humanities), as well as the Arabic media. Moreover, the students practice a comprehensive contextual analysis and interpretation of the texts, that takes into account their significance for the contemporary Arabic culture.

Knowledge - a student:

interpret key terms from a culture of Arab countries through linguistic/philological analysis K_U15

Assessment criteria
Attendance control. Max. two absences (4 hours) are allowed in a semester. In case of absence due to illness, a medical certificate should be submitted within seven working days from the last day of the leave specified in the certificate.
