Knowledge about the Arabic Language 1 3600-7-AR2-WJA1
The lecture tackles all main grammatical topics and issues from the beginner’s and intermedtiate levels, including morphology of the weak verbs (verba hamzata, doubly and trebly weak verbs), the component parts of a sentence (verbal states and tenses, moods of verbs, government of the verb, nomina verbi or actionis, agentis and patientis, government of the noun, numerals), the sentence and its parts (concord in gender and number between the parts of a sentence), different kinds of sentences (negative and prohibitive sentences, interrogative sentences, relative sentences, copulative sentences, adversative and restrictive and exceptive sentences, conditional and hypothetical sentences)

K_U14 can translate literary texts and writings from Arabic into Polish
K_U15 can interpret key terms from a chosen culture of Arab countries through linguistic/philological analysis
K_U16 can fluently use the script and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.)
K_U17 can properly function in the linguistic and cultural environment of Arab countries
K_U22 has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in Arabic
K_U24 can use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and in Arabic

Assessment criteria
Attendance control - a student can be absent max. twice during the semester; in the case of absence due to illness, the medical certificate excusing this absence should be submitted within seven work days of the last day of the leave specified in the certificate.
1. written exam: questions from theory of Arabic grammar, tasks to translate a text grammatically correctly using proper grammar constructions, tasks to build certain grammar constructions or forms on the basis of acquired grammar knowledge of the Arabic language
2. oral exam - the same scope as above
